Description: This antioxidant substance is composed of the amino acids histidine and alanine. It occurs naturally in the body, especially in muscle, the brain, and the heart, as well as in food. Nerves and muscle cells contain high levels of carnosine. A zinc-carnosine complex has been shown to be effective against Helicobacter pylori infection.

Precautions: No side effects have been reported.
Dosage: A dosage of 150 mg (zinc carnosine complex) twice daily is recommended for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection. Otherwise, up to 1,500 mg of carnosine can be used daily as an antioxidant.
