With a click of a mouse you can receive higher yields from your bank, decrease your driving and help save the 100 millions trees that are cut down for Junk mail each year.

Since bank customers are a primary source of address leads for junk mail, you reduce the mailing list by signing up for online banking. While it may seem like a small step, think about the 250,000 American homes that could be heated with a day's supply of junk mail. This doesn't even take into account the bank notices you actually signed up for and the emissions reduced by not having to drive to your bank.

Online banking, provided by most large U.S. institutions such as Bank of America, Citi Bank, Capital One, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo, offers the user many of the same options as a brick-and-mortar bank. You can transfer funds, pay bills, get account summaries, order checks, and make investments all from the comfort of your home. In addition, many of the banks are offering their online customers higher annual yields on their savings accounts. So if you're deciding on a new bank, be sure to compare the online services and offers.
