ecomii launches new green building center on www.ecomii.com

ecomii also debuts ecomii blogs, thought-leading perspectives on how consumers can simplify their lives, stay current on renewable energies and the politics and policies shaping our future

NEW YORK, NY – October 22, 2008 - ecomii, the premier ‘green’ lifestyle destination for consumers, today announced the launch of a new Green Building center that helps consumers improve their home energy efficiency and answer questions on green building and remodeling. Content for the new section can be found at www.ecomii.com/building and will serve as a single destination for comprehensive, credible and practical green building resources, issues and information.

Also launching are new expert blogs at www.ecomii.com/blogs that will offer consumers access to a diverse range of expertise to simplify their lives as well as offer current thought-leading perspectives on renewable energies and the local and national politics and policies that are shaping our future. The new sections are part of an ongoing series of features that are being added to ecomii.com since launching in beta.

As conscious consumers continue to weigh the financial and environmental impact of their decisions on a daily basis, they will look for proven, credible sources of information to guide their decision-making process.  It is essential that consumers have the resources and facts available to them in order to act, and ecomii effectively fills that need from parenting and cooking to green building and simple living," said Todd O’Donald, ecomii co-founder and managing director.

All of ecomii’s content is aimed at helping consumers save - save money, save their family’s health and save the planet. Featured content on ecomii’s Green Building center is no different and offers consumers a broad spectrum of practical green building, remodeling and design information coupled with resources that balance your family’s needs and financial means with responsible environmental stewardship.

“At ecomii, we believe that saving money and the environment can go hand in hand,” said ecomii co-founder and environmental director Colton Dirksen. “While there doesn’t appear to be a quick fix to the troubled economy, there are some relatively simple things you can start doing today that will have a real impact on your personal finances as well as the health of your family and the environment.”

The new Green Building center will provide consumers with expertise and resources on topics ranging from solar power and renewable energy to green building materials, sustainable development and natural design. ecomii’s Green Building center joins other ecomii lifestyle centers including:  Parenting (www.ecomii.com/parenting) and Smart Food (www.ecomii.com/food).

Understanding the current state of the public’s growing social-consciousness and the trend towards environmentally sustainable approaches to modern living, ecomii sets out to be credible, informative and entertaining, with an emphasis on verifiable information, practical advice and community building achieved through ecomii Action (www.ecomii.com/action).

Since launching in September, we have seen an extremely positive reaction to our offering and are on track to reach well over 200,000 users in October. This is a reflection of the fact that ecomii’s content extends beyond the environment to encapsulate all of the issues of conscious consumerism, such as financial, health as well as its practicality, which makes us as relevant during this financial crisis as during Earth Day,” concluded O’Donald.
