Reuse Your Clothing – Seattle

Every year Americans throw away two quadrillion pounds of used clothing. Heaps of wasted clothing, often still in great condition, languish in landfills. Consider selling or donating your old clothes instead of throwing them out by using some of Seattle's local resources. Donating, purchasing and reusing second hand clothing will significantly reduce the severe toll placed on the environment through the production of new clothing.

Seattle Resources for Clothing Reuse

  • Seattle area Goodwills accept donated clothing and often help disadvantaged customers buy clothes for less.

  • Plato's Closet will buy your gently used, brand-name clothing. Get rid of old stuff and make money!

  • The Queen Anne Helpline accepts donated clothing and runs a clothing bank to help the elderly.
