Reuse Your Books – Los Angeles

The best way to dispose of old books is by keeping them in circulation. There are a number of places to donate, buy, and sell used books in L.A. Some of these resources sell used books to the general public, while others donate books to places that need them like public school libraries. In essence, the less books in the landfill the better.

Los Angeles Resources for Book Reuse

  • Consult your local library to find out if it accepts used books for its collection.
  • The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will accept your used books as a charitable donation.

  • Books for America improves libraries in area schools, shelters and hospitals and supports local reading programs.

  • Book Ends will collect your used children's books and redistribute them to children in need.
