Reuse Your Books

A book is one of the easiest paper goods to reuse because it is so convenient to donate and is as useful as a secondhand item as when it is brand new.

There are a number of places to donate, buy, and sell used books both in your area and online. Some of these resources sell used books to the general public, while others donate books to places that need them like public schools and libraries.

Specifics for Donating or Selling Books

Many national charities and organizations accept used book donations:

  • Donate and find used books at Freecycle

  • Sell your books on Craigslist

  • Visit a Salvation Army to donate your used books

  • Donate books and other items to Goodwill. Click here to find a location near you.

  • Oodle.com will help you find a place to donate your books near your neighborhood
