Felicia, or Blue Marguerite (Felicia Amelloides)
By Bill Marken & The National Gardening Association

Another small but profuse producer of daisy like flowers, felicia’s blooms are from 1 to 3 inches wide and bright blue with yellow centers. The plants form dense mounds 18 inches tall, up to 5 feet wide.

Use these plants in borders or containers. Felicia is a perennial in mild climates. Kingfisher daisy (Felicia bergeriana) is smaller and more compact, only 6 to 8 inches tall.

Set out transplants in spring in cold-winter climates, or in fall where winters are mild. Plant in full sun. Kingfisher daisy is easy to grow from seeds sown directly in the ground. Cut back felicia for bushier plants and more abundant blooms.

Pinch off the tips of young plants to encourage branching, and cut off dead flowers to prolong the bloom season.
