Creeping Zinnia (Santvitalia Procumbens)
By Bill Marken & The National Gardening Association

With its bright yellow or orange flowers, creeping zinnia — not actually a zinnia at all — is a fine plant to use as ground cover or in containers. It only grows 8 inches tall and may spread a foot and a half.

Sow seeds in full sun directly in the ground after the soil and air have warmed up. These plants thrive in hot weather. Just make sure that the soil never dries out.
