Coleus
By Bill Marken & The National Gardening Association

Though the flowers are incidental, at best, this plant has very colorful leaves.

Grow coleus for a tropical effect in pots and borders — indoors, too. These plants grow quickly, up to 24 inches. Set out transplants in spring, after any danger of frost. Plant in light shade.

To encourage bushy growth, pinch back tips — and flowers if you notice them. At the end of the season, bring plants indoors before frost strikes, and keep them in a sunny window all winter.
