Blanket Flower (Gaillardia Pulchella)
By Bill Marken & The National Gardening Association

Blanket flower is another sun-loving, easy-to-grow, warm-hued daisy. Its summer flowers of orange, red, yellow, and bicolors are excellent for cutting.

Growing up to 24 inches tall, these plants are at home in containers, borders, or mixed wildflower plantings. Sow seeds directly in the ground in full sun. Plant them in the spring after any danger of frost.

Keep the soil on the dry side after germination and encourage a long bloom season by removing faded flowers.
