Tiny flowers in midsummer seem to form white, pink, or red clouds on upright plants up to 18 inches tall.
Sow seeds directly in the ground in a sunny spot. Plant in spring, after any danger of frost. Keep the soil on the dry side. These plants live only six weeks or so; for a longer bloom season, stagger seed sowings over several months.
To dry cut flowers, hang them upside down in a cool, dry place.
