A simple combination, but oh-so-delicious. A vine-ripened muskmelon or watermelon would be the choice for the melon side of this marriage. If using watermelon, finding a seedless, icebox-sized fruit (6 to 8 inches in diameter) makes the job easier.

INGREDIENTS
3 pounds bite-size melon chunks (about 6 cups)
2 mangoes, cut into 1-inch chunks (for cutting instructions, see page 272)
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon freshly grated lime zest (well scrubbed if not organic)
1/2 teaspoon quick dissolving sugar
PREPARATION
Toss all the ingredients in a bowl, then chill in the fridge for at least half an hour.
