Antibiotic-Free

Many strains of bacteria are becoming resistant to common antibiotics because of the overuse of antibiotics on farms to promote weight gain and prevent diseases in animals.

The USDA has banned the use of the term Antibiotic Free on meats, so look for the credible labels "no antibiotics administered," "no antibiotics added," "raised without antibiotics," or buy Certified Organic meat and dairy.

Learn more about antibiotic use in food production and which labels to look for when purchasing meat and dairy products from animals raised without antibiotics on ecomii.
