I disagree in that nuclear energy should be the focus of our energy policy. Nuclear fission is an old technology that creates dangerous byproducts that can be used destructively. Though it is certainly clean, there are more efficient, less polluting, and ultimately more productive sources of energy we should commit more resources to. That is not to say that nuclear energy shouldn't be a part of our approach, but it should certainly not be the focus.

i think that the US should pursue wind, water, and solar energy, to ween us off oil, and not use nuclear. nuclear energy is not safe, no matter how you look at it.
