Are you the Einstein of the eco-friendly movement? Have you been daydreaming about your next great environmentally-conscious business product? If so, you have a chance to shine at this year’s 2nd Annual Global EcoEasy Challenge.
Staples, in conjunction with the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability, created this program to challenge students from leading technology institutions worldwide to develop an office product that represents greater environmental responsibility or promotes sustainability.
Ready to show the world your brilliant ideas? Submit a 1,000-word description of your idea for a new, more environmentally-friendly design of an office product. Designs can alter an existing producing, using eco-friendly materials, or designers can come up with a brand new product that promotes sustainability. For this contest, the sky’s the limit, as long as its promoting a greater environmental responsibility or sustainability.
Staples will invite up to eight finalist teams to Washington, D.C. in April 2011, to present their product idea to a panel of judges. The judges will award the grand-prize winning team with $25,000 and two runners-up will receive $5,000 each.
Participation isn’t limited to just designers and inventors. This year the public will help decide which submission is worthy of the grand-prize title. Just visit the contest site once a day from March 8 through March 22, 2011, to vote for your favorite EcoEasy office product.
And good luck!
