Aptera, one of 9 U.S. start-ups we covered in our Space Age Cars series, recently used the TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) conference held from the 3rd to the 7th of February in Southern California to officially unveil its 2e model to the public.

The car has been improved since we last featured it, and Aptera co-founder and CEO Steve Fambro has promised that even more improvements will be made before production begins.

Fambro took the internet’s #1 Aptera afficianado Josh of Aptera Forum for the first test-drive given to anyone who has reserved a 2e. A video of the ride can be found here. Steve takes Josh for a short ride and shows him a few of Aptera’s features. Aptera Forum has also published the car’s specs.

As Aptera continues to improve its design and move closer to production, the firm is cementing itself as one of the frontrunners in the radiply emerging EV (electric vehicle) market. The sleak design does a lot to differentiate the product. Early indications are that the car’s performance will live up to the space age look.
