Progressive Muscle Relaxation

A popular technique to help people relax is to tighten and relax muscles throughout the body. People do not realize how tight their muscles are until they consciously tighten and relax them.

Starting by curling your toes and holding them tightened for three seconds, then relax them. Work your way up the body, focusing on how each muscle group feels as you tighten and relax it. This is a great technique for unwinding at the end of the day or reducing anxiety that is troubling you.
